曾是阿茲達克帝國的祭祀中心
有三個重要建築並立廣場
昨天遊覽完 Catedral Metropolitana & Templo Mayor
這個早上先要遊覽剩餘的另一景點
這張是墨西哥城的經典地標
天氣不好.....否則一定更有氣勢
這個早上便是要一遊這廣場東側的墨西哥國家皇宮/Palacio Nacional

也是總统府.....即政府總部
以前皇室人員就住在這裡
遊客只要出示護照
就可免費入場

宮內主樓梯上最著名的壁畫
是景點之一
由墨西哥名畫家 Diego Rivera
將墨西哥 3000 年的歷史和演變過程
包括和西班牙的鬥爭和整個獨立過程
由美洲文明之母~ 奧美克文明→瑪雅文明表達出來
壁畫作於 1929-1935 年
用了六年時間才完成其中一部份
由 1521 年阿茲達克帝國被西班牙殖民者征服
展開了三個世紀的西班牙殖民
天井上方北牆和東牆上的壁畫
表達了西班牙征服前的本土生活面貌
直到 1821 年墨西哥獨立
藝術地表達墨西哥的歷史
畫內都是阿茲達克王國、西班牙航海家、天主教傳教士
及美國入侵等歷史
國家宮原是阿兹達克皇帝的宮殿
1521 年被西班牙所毁
1562 年改建成這座三個內院的西式堡壘
建成後墨西哥的第一場鬥牛表演
就在中庭舉行
每年 9 月 15 日的國慶日
總統都會站在獨立鐘下面
高呼"Viva Mexico"/"墨西哥萬歲"
